KONG #18 - 2005: "Some big hard-boiled egg gets a look at a pretty face and
bang - he cracks up and goes sappy."

Here is the weekly newsletter! Enjoy!

Production Diary: Day 90
Peter Jackson's New York set is so realistic and detailed, right down to the
alligators in the sewers! Ok, so there may not be alligators in the sewers,
but just what is down there? What makes that steam come out from
underground? Grant Major and his crew go behind the scenes and show us how
they manufactured such a tiny detail that adds so much aesthetic quality to
the set. And what about the real New York sewers? What are the theories to
the real steam coming out from below? Listen to the crews answers, and you
be the judge!

Production Diary: Day 87
I never thought I'd see more details on a set than what I heard and read
about on the Edoras set, but I've got to say this; New York blows me away!!
Grant Major, Dan Hennah and others show us the very very VERY minute details
that go into the massive set. From the fake cow carcass molds (from real
cows) to the set dressings in a shop that may not even make it into the
film. There is one thing I want the entire production to know...I want one
of those fake chickens behind Grant! Someone send me one!!

Kong Chat: EVERY Thursday!!
It is time to come together and talk Kong! The chatroom has been a great
success, however some people have been popping in at odd hours when there is
no one to chat with. To that end I've devised a KONG Chat time, a set time
and day of the week for all Kong chatters to meet and have fun! The weekly
Kong Chat will be Thursday nights at 8:30PM Eastern Standard Time.

KONG HISTORY: King Kong is back. In 2005, writer/director Peter Jackson, the
man responsible for "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy, will direct a new,
large-scale remake featuring a monstrous computer generated ape to be
created by Jackson's special effects company, WETA Digital. However, Kong's
origins lay long ago, towards the beginning of the last century in fact.
What follows is a history of the great ape's adventures, on both the large
and small screen. This history's films and TV series are the one's that were
widely released.
