'King Kong' redo to go ape in city
King Kong's aiming to cast a giant shadow in New York. Universal Pictures,
the studio behind an upcoming remake of "King Kong," is cooking up a massive
marketing plan in the city for the gorilla flick, sources told the Daily
News. In recent weeks, studio execs have been holding talks with city
officials to discuss the feasibility and costs of a splashy media event.

HUGEsound composer Chance Thomas has been selected to score Peter Jackson's
King Kong, the console game based on Universal Pictures' upcoming film from

Playstation Magazine Talks Kong Game
Paul writes: The June 2005 issue of Playstation Magazine (PSM) reveals that
Ubisoft’s Michel Ancel has been tapped to create a King Kong game. Ancel
created the game 'Beyond Good and Evil'. The article goes on to say that
Ubisoft has been giving unlimited access “to every creative aspect of the
film”

Playmates Monkeys Around with 'King Kong'
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com)- The original King Kong from the 1933 film was only
18 inches tall. Fans of Peter Jackson's updated "Kong" will be able to
purchase toys of nearly that size under a new line of Playmates goodies
recently unveiled. Peter Jackson's "King Kong" will be released by Universal
Pictures on Dec. 14 and the film, Jackson's follow-up to his Oscar-winning
"Lord of the Rings" trilogy, is expected to have audiences in a tizzy this
Holiday Season. The project stars Adrien Brody, Jack Black and Naomi Watts,
as well as a computer generated monkey.

KONG HISTORY: King Kong is back. In 2005, writer/director Peter Jackson, the
man responsible for "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy, will direct a new,
large-scale remake featuring a monstrous computer generated ape to be
created by Jackson's special effects company, WETA Digital. However, Kong's
origins lay long ago, towards the beginning of the last century in fact.
What follows is a history of the great ape's adventures, on both the large
and small screen. This history's films and TV series are the one's that were
widely released.
