Kellogg's Kong Promo Images
Paul writes: I saw a box of Apple Jacks yesterday in Ohio that had Kong on
the cover and had the information about getting a free Kong t-shirt.

Times Square may be used for Kong premiere
Universal is negotiating with New York City for the use of Times Square for
King Kong's December 5 premiere and party. The party of 8000 people -
including New York's mayor, Michael Bloomberg, and 3000 fans - is expected
to tie up Times Square in Manhattan and 38 screens in a pair of 42nd Street
theatres at the height of the holiday shopping season. The festivities will
include "a special moment" for the Empire State Building, where Kong meets
his death.

Wellywood Studios Kong Post Production
Kong Spy Gandalf writes: I realised today it's been around five months since
my last photos of Kong happenings in town here. These quick shots were taken
today (Sep 12) and are of the Stone Street studio complex where the large
container wall and blue screen are long gone. The old swamp pool and a few
trees are all that remain in the yard as post production forges ahead
indoors.

8000 invited to Kong's launch party
About 8000 people will attend the invitation-only world premiere of Peter
Jackson's King Kong in New York, where it will be shown on 38 screens in a
pair of 42nd Street cinemas. The December 5 premiere is also likely to tie
up Times Square in Manhattan, and include "a special moment" at the Empire
State Building, a key feature in the film, The New York Times reported.
Guests would include New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and 3000 people who
will win tickets in several competitions. People who book flights with Air
New Zealand have a chance to win two tickets. Wellington will hold the New
Zealand premiere on December 14.

Huge. Awesome. Irresistible. Just Not Overbearing
NBC Universal's "King Kong" will still be nine days short of its opening.
But on that day the studio plans to introduce the third incarnation of its
soulful simian to 8,000 of his closest friends at what promises to be a
gargantuan movie premiere. Nearly a year in the making, the party - with a
seat for New York's mayor, Michael R. Bloomberg, and 3,000 for admirers who
win tickets in various promotions - is expected to tie up Times Square in
Manhattan and 38 screens in a pair of 42nd Street theaters at the height of
the holiday shopping season. Actually, 7,000 fans already made a passing
acquaintance with Kong in July, when the director, Peter Jackson, sent a
seven-minute scene (in which the ape battles dinosaurs) to Comic-Con, the
comics convention in San Diego. And 30,000 theatrical trailers, dubbed in 11
languages and subtitled in 20 others, have been playing around the globe
since June 29, two days after a 150-second teaser had its debut on the Web
site of Volkswagen, a promotional partner for the movie, and on various
NBC-Universal outlets.

KONG HISTORY: King Kong is back. In 2005, writer/director Peter Jackson, the
man responsible for "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy, will direct a new,
large-scale remake featuring a monstrous computer generated ape to be
created by Jackson's special effects company, WETA Digital. However, Kong's
origins lay long ago, towards the beginning of the last century in fact.
What follows is a history of the great ape's adventures, on both the large
and small screen. This history's films and TV series are the one's that were
widely released.
