Post Production Diary - 15 Weeks To Go
15 weeks to go and the Foley artists are knee deep in mud working on all
Foley effects. What is a Foley Artist? These folks are responsible for 99%
of the sounds you hear in a movie...ANY sound, from the most mundane coffee
cup to the eerie sounds deep inside skull island. They have a ton of
creative ways to re-create these sounds, and use everything (including the
kitchen sink) at their disposal to achieve it. Take a look! (I want that
Venture ship wheel!)

Ubisoft's Peter Jackson's King Kong Wins Best Of GC PS2 At 2005 Games
Convention
London, UK: August 30, 2005 – Today Ubisoft, one of the world's leading
video game publishers, announced that its upcoming interactive game, Peter
Jackson's King Kong was awarded the Best GC PS2 award at the Games
Convention in Leipzig, Germany. The prize was selected by a panel of six
leading media specialists. More than 134,000 visitors and 280 exhibitors
attended the Games Convention 2005, making it the biggest game fair in
Europe. Describing the game, the jury shared why they selected the game as
Best of GC PS2: "Peter Jackson's King Kong shows how an intense game
environment can be created when a game designer and movie director
collaborate on a video game project. The action adventure game transports
players inside the movie and allows them to see what's possible in a video
game, in contrast to movies. The world in which King Kong lives seems so
real and enthralling that players will do everything they can to survive."

Japanese Kong Promo Goodies!
Japan Amusement Machine Photos Paul writes: I have some promotional photos I
took from the Japan Amusement Machine show recently. I am not sure if those
promotion art banners have been shown in Comic-Con or other shows etc. I
have not seen them before for sure. Those are the prototype movie goods that
maybe released in the Japanese movie theaters when the movie opens. In
Japan, they sell goods at the theaters, like T-shirts, and key chains
stuffs.

KONG HISTORY: King Kong is back. In 2005, writer/director Peter Jackson, the
man responsible for "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy, will direct a new,
large-scale remake featuring a monstrous computer generated ape to be
created by Jackson's special effects company, WETA Digital. However, Kong's
origins lay long ago, towards the beginning of the last century in fact.
What follows is a history of the great ape's adventures, on both the large
and small screen. This history's films and TV series are the one's that were
widely released.
