Post Production Diary - 8 Weeks To Go
Kong is King! Or at least the '33 model is treated like one at the Wellywood
studios in New Zealand. Bob Burns and his wife visit the production with a
very special guest, the original King Kong model. The Burns' get to shoot a
special cameo for the 2005 film (also Peter's final live action shot) and
the model makes its way around the studio...easily distracting everyone in
sight. Then something very VERY special happens...I am not going to spoil it
for you...you'll have to see for yourself! Take a look!

Kong Poster Spotted?
Kong Teaser Poster I received this image last week and immediately rejected
it thinking it was fan art. Well it seems to be making the rounds and some
sources are indeed confirming that the image to your left is indeed the
teaser poster for King Kong. Words seem to escape me at the moment as I try
to formulate an opinion...more news on this soon.

NZSO music cut from King Kong after film changes composer
Music recorded by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) for Peter
Jackson's film King Kong has been cut from the movie. The music was written
by Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore, who wrote the score for Lord of the
Rings, and who flew to this country to conduct the work. But in a statement
today Jackson said he and Shore had "differing creative aspirations" for
King Kong and had decided amicably to let another composer score the film.
NZSO chief executive Peter Walls today confirmed to NZPA that the
orchestra's music would not be a part of the movie. "We did a week's worth
of recording about a month ago for King Kong. We were due to do some more
next week," he said.

man responsible for "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy, will direct a new,
large-scale remake featuring a monstrous computer generated ape to be
created by Jackson's special effects company, WETA Digital. However, Kong's
origins lay long ago, towards the beginning of the last century in fact.
What follows is a history of the great ape's adventures, on both the large
and small screen. This history's films and TV series are the one's that were
widely released.
