KONG #32 - 2005: "Some big hard-boiled egg gets a look at a pretty face and
bang - he cracks up and goes sappy."

Here is the weekly newsletter! Enjoy!

Post Production Diary - 29 Weeks To Go
With 29 weeks to go Peter Jackson and Jamie Selkirk give us a breakdown of
the editing process. With millions of feet of film, hours of footage (you
will never believe how many) how do they coordinate it all? Who is in
control of all that data? Some GREAT shots from the film, and some Kong
previs and model shots too! Take a look!

Kong Files VII: Going Native
John Michlig writes: Kong FilesThere are many elements of the original King
Kong film that are very much “of their time”: the bombastic acting style;
‘30s-era slang (“sinkers,” anyone?); simple solutions to complex problems
(ape on building? Shoot him off!); men wearing snap brim fedoras in the
jungle; simple damsel in distress theme; guys arbitrarily driving into the
sides of buildings (this evidently happened quite a bit in the ‘30s).

Original King Kong is One of 100 Best: Time
Linuxelf writes: The movie critics for Time magazine, Richard Schickel and
Richard Corliss, have compiled an unranked list of the 100 greatest films.
Time Compiled List of 100 Greatest Films; LOTR featured on this link as well
as the 1933 King Kong.

King Kong E3 Gameplay Demo Description!
charles writes: I watched their little video game presentation today and it
was surprisingly good. Games based on films are as a rule, almost always
terrifyingly awful. (and films based on games follow this trend too, not
surprisingly) Well when you enter their little theatre, the guy says that
it's "TOP SECRET" and he actually means it too. I've seen a few of these
video game presentations before over the years and never has it been this
strict.

KONG HISTORY: King Kong is back. In 2005, writer/director Peter Jackson, the
man responsible for "The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy, will direct a new,
large-scale remake featuring a monstrous computer generated ape to be
created by Jackson's special effects company, WETA Digital. However, Kong's
origins lay long ago, towards the beginning of the last century in fact.
What follows is a history of the great ape's adventures, on both the large
and small screen. This history's films and TV series are the one's that were
widely released.
