Live in NYC? Wanna See 1933 King Kong on the Big Screen?

10/28/06, 11:18 am EST - Xoanon

Damien Farley, General Manager of the Landmark's Sunshine Cinema writes: Thought I'd let you know about an upcoming event happening in NYC:

When: evenings of Wednesday, 11/22 through Saturday, 11/25 at Midnight

What: KING KONG (1933 version) on the BIG SCREEN!

Where:
Landmark's SUNSHINE CINEMA
143 East Houston Street
New York, NY 10002

How:
Tickets available now by visiting movies.aol.com (just choose the desired night from the drop down area and the feature/show will be displayed).

Why:
From the mid-1970s until the mid-1980s, NYC's WOR-TV annually featured KING KONG as part of a Thanksgiving Day Monster Movie Marathon. In an effort to recall my own youth, and that of tens of thousands of other New Yorkers, I petitioned my film booker to bring me KONG. And, I was successful! This year, NYers will once again have the opportunity to indulge their love of KONG during Thanksgiving weekend.

Hope as many of you as possible can attend. You can bet that, as showtime approaches, I'll be among those drooling at the prospect of seeing THE ORIGINAL on the big screen for the first time.
