Omaha restaurant owner wants Burger King to stop using King Kong

OMAHA — Burger King is violating a Nebraska eatery’s trademarks by promoting the new “King Kong” movie. That’s according to Nick Triantafillou, who owns Omaha-based King Kong Restaurants. In 2000, Triantafillou gained the exclusive trademark to use the big-screen ape’s name in restaurant and food service businesses. Burger King’s latest ad campaign encourages customers to “feed their Kong-sized hunger” at their restaurants. [More]
