Black runs his way into the '30s for `King Kong'

NEW YORK -- Jack Black's eyebrows are special effects in themselves. It's easy to see why "King Kong" director Peter Jackson thought of them, and their owner, when casting the role of wild-eyed Depression-era moviemaker Carl Denham. This character, part showman and part visionary, gets the plot, the Skull Island expedition and the ginormous critters in motion in both the original 1933 classic and Jackson's near-quarter-billion-dollar remake.
