The members of Green Day have recruited teen screen stars Jamie Bell and Evan Rachel Wood to add a dramatic touch to the video for their haunting song Wake Me Up When September Ends. The track is about frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's father passing away - and the video features speaking roles by Bell and Wood, who portray young lovers. [More]

Gandalf (via Great H) from our messageboards sends this along: Adrien Brody appeared on 'The Tem Show' here in NZ on Prime TV last night (Wed 10). Unfortunately I couldn't get a video rip, but can provide the audio from the interview by Temuera Morrison (Once Were Warriors, Star Wars). The piece started with a clip from 'The Piano' then moved to Adrian playing the piano for Tem followed by the interview. During the dialogue, some PD and trailer footage was cut in between shots of Tem and Adrian talking. Also, a longer segment of the trailer was featured towards the end. The female Tem speaks to before and after the piece is singer Anika Moa. [MP3 (4.6MB)]

This was just the Australian market and they mentioned that they hadn't yet prepped the adult tie ins, only the childrens books which included a colouring book and two different versions of juinor novels, though a 'making of' and 'Art' book are to be expected. The Last Day of Pick Ups! There is a sense of accomplishment (and unemployment) among the cast and crew as the last few shots are completed in New Zealand. Jack Black, Colin Hanks, Adrien Brody and yes Naomi Watts are all on set to shoot the final scenes. Looks like The Log scene needed another shot of the boys, and Naomi in her dressing room and in Kong's grasp was shot, PJ looks like the weight of the world is lifting off his shoulders! Take a look! The great papal race is on, as ABC announced Friday that it has begun production on its Pope John Paul II telepictelepic in Lithuania. CBS was first to announce a John Paul II longformlongform soon after the pope's death in April, but ABC quickly started developing its own project. Since then, it's been a race to see which of the dueling papal pics would hit the air first. Eye's version, to be shot in Poland and Italy, will commence principal photography Thursday in John Paul II's hometown of Krakow, Poland. ABC's telepic, "Have No Fear: The Life of Pope John Paul II," stars Thomas Kretschmann. The movie will follow Karol Wojtyla as he lives through German-occupied Poland; joins the priesthood soon after WWII; becomes the country's youngest bishop; and rapidly ascends through the Catholic church ranks to be elected pope. From CinemaTech: I arrived at the LA Convention Center this afternoon just in time to find a seat in the back of the hall for George Lucas' opening keynote at SIGGRAPH 2005... (George Lucas) talks a bit about Peter Jackson's visual effects shop, Weta Digital, which he visited recently. "Weta is like ILM was 20 years ago." He invited Jackson to come see ILM now, and see if that's really the direction he wants Weta to go. [More]
