Peter Jackson helps build the buzz around Hot Fuzz

PJ helps build the buzz around Hot Fuzz

The boys behind Shaun of the Dead and the new hit action-comedy Hot Fuzz talk to Margaret Agnew about staying true, Tarantino, homo-erotica, and Peter Jackson's cameo. The most action-filled, splattery fun to be had at the movies since Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz is the latest movie sub-version made by a clever trio of comic Brits. Actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and their director Edgar Wright were in New Zealand recently to launch Hot Fuzz, with the help of their mate "PJ" – or Peter Jackson to less stellar mortals.

With jetlag setting in, Frost and Wright down Nurofen during our interview (they show me the packet to prove it isn't something illicit). They all look tired, having flown from England the day before to attend the New Zealand premiere of Hot Fuzz at Wellington's Embassy theatre. [More]

WETA Talks ‘The Dam Busters’!

3/19/07, 11:12 am EST - Xoanon

From wetanz.com: Weta Workshop will create the physical effects and miniatures necessary to fully realise the Peter Jackson produced film ‘The Dam Busters’. The film is based on the book The Dam Busters by Paul Brickhill and the 1955 Associated British Picture Corporation motion picture and will be directed by Christian Rivers. The Wingnut Films production will be produced by Jan Blenkin, Carolynne Cunningham and Peter Jackson, with Sir David Frost and Ken Kamins serving as Executive Producers. “This is one of the most remarkable true stories to come out of World War II”, said Peter. “When Michael Anderson made his thrilling version of this story in 1955, many details of the dams raid were still a closely guarded secret. It has since been declassified by the British Government, making the dynamics of the story and the people involved even more intriguing." [More]
