Decipher Updates
Berendir @ 7:00 pm EST

The Decipher site is updating frequently with the closing release date. Among those changes is the card list. With each passing weekday a new card will be revealed. Today's card?

The other big update is the Rulebook.

Most card games have just one deck of cards that never changes, but a trading card game(or TCG)works differently. In a TCG, you personalize your playing deck using cards from your collection. The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game provides two or more players with the same challenges that rodo Baggins, bearer of the One Ring, faced on his fateful journey from Hobbiton to Mount Doom to destroy the Ring. The premiere set, The Fellowship of the Ring, represents the first part of Frodo’s journey from Hobbiton to Amon Hen on the Anduin River.

Download the rulebook Here.

Decipher Card Report
Xoanon @ 8:41 pm EST

Check out The Prancing Pony Inn! Very cool stuff from Decipher!

Gold Yard
Berendir @ 4:58 pm EST

The character in Gold Yard is conspiculously familiar. He's a short, plump, well dressed Hobbit whose on a treasure hunt.

The object of the game is to collect as much gold as possible and escape the grave yard. Sounds like Bilbo's adventure, only our hero had to deal with getting out of a Dragon's den, easily more frightening than a ghost and spider inhabited crypt.

It's worth a look, so if your hard up for some cheap Middle Earth related gaming, go check out Gold Yard.

There's a lot of bland, unfulfilling Lord of the Rings games out there, but these are the best of those that I've found.

Nintendo Gamecube to get LOTR Game?
Xoanon @ 1:10 pm EST

From: Scrow

I just found a little bit of news about what ads will be shown before the screening of a LotR movie. I read an article at this URL

the area of interest for you is about halfway through the article where it says:

"Holiday moviegoers will see NINTENDO GAMECUBE commercials on the big screen in November and December, airing along with blockbusters such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings."

Dragon Empires
Berendir @ 3:09 pm EST

Many of you will remember Stephen Nichols, past head developer of Middle Earth Online, who after the demise of Sierra's once promising project fell off the map for a while.

Such ideas as permanant death and limited magic were concepts that promised to change the face of MMORPG's. Unfortunately these far out ideas were too much for Sierra, and so MEO was cancelled, and the Dev team dismissed.

Stephen Nichols is back, and while he's not working on a new world for Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves, and Men to romp in joyous unison, this does look to be a very promising project.

Thanks to ME Stratics for supplying the news.

If anyone's inspired by the Art shown, or Stephen Nichols presence in the game, check out the press release Here and the tentative site Here.
