LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring Interivew with Jeff Everett
Berendir @ 12:36 pm EST
From: Gamehelper At E3 last year Sierra led us backstage to have a sneak peek at a very early version of their Xbox only title Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings. There was much hype surrounding the title at the time, as word was already on the wind that Peter Jackson’s film version was set to impress. (at least visually;). Bear in mind, this title is based solely on the books by J.R.R. Tolkein and not on the movies [EA has their eyes set on movie renditions – ED]. {More}

Riot-E Entertainment Files For Bankruptcy
Strider @ 3:56 pm EST
Tomi writes: Just wanted to let you know that Riot-E (which has/had "exclusive rights to manufacture, sell and distribute accessories to mobile phones, in relation to the Lord of the Rings but also rights to wireless games and services concerning the same legend") has filed for bankruptcy. Riot-E isn't the first mobile company in Finland to go under. In the end, it seems that the license fees for high profile merchandise such as LOTR caused the destruction of the company.
