Thanks to Odin for sending in his thoughts on some interesting stuff to check out if your a gaming fan.

Just thought I might let everyone in on a few things now that War of the Rings has been delayed. Since noone can really seem to get their hands on many Middle Earth games or any LOTRs games period there are a few things you CAN do to pass the time in the fantasy sense. Such fantasy based games as Ultima Online (www.owo.com) and Everquest (www.everquest.com) Might satisfy your needs. I've also found while browsing through some news I had received that there are Lord of the Rings and Middle Earth maps on Starcraft for those of you who may not already know. From what I've heard those are quite good. Not much else to catch everyone else up on, I'll let you know if I find anything.

Hello everyone,

Its been a while since i've been doing some good solid updating, and i think that should change. I was wondering if there are any people out there who really specialize in gaming, and who have a gaming site, or want to. The gaming havens could really use about two more dedicated people.

Since news of middle earth stuff doesn't exactly flow in, it will be a site dedicated to bringing all kinds of medievil fantasy gaming news. If there are people out there with a site now, and wish to move there info, or work on two at once, that is good to. If your interested in this please email me at Berendir@theonering.net

And last, but certainly not least, the second totally f'in spicy bastard that Ross Perez broke to me is that WON.net will be providing a massively multiplayer online game based off of J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" fantasy novels. In the game, large numbers of players will hop onto the game's servers and act out Tolkien's fantasies. That's all that we have on this at the moment, but stay tuned for an upcoming press release later today.

Lack of News

Well I wish I could say I've been off fighting trolls in the Iron Hills, and too busy to inform you of some great news in Middle Earth Roleplaying, but thats not so. The truth of the matter is there is a lack of news concering any tolkien gaming.

With the delay of WoTR, stagnant situation of MEO, and lack of any other productivity in the area of ME gaming, there simply isn't much to talk about. However in the future when things pick up I'll still be here to bring news about it. You can bet when the movies get closer they'll be some MIddle Earth Games out there, especially after the movies are out, when theres a real market for it.

War of the ring... Delayed.

Well I have no good news to bring you today about the war craft II conversion. It seems Gurthaur's hard work may just be for naught... But I'll let you read his words, which are right from the source:

Due to legal copyright problems with the War of the Ring project, it has been (Hopefully just temporary!) paused, and might eventually be cancelled.. It all depends on the mercy and goodwill of the Saul Zaentz Company, which holds the exclusive rights to pretty much everything having to do with the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings.
If the War of the Ring project comes to an end, it will mean about 1 1/2 years (+ the foregoing half year when the project had "something to do with honoring Tolkien's memory"), of more or less hard work going to waste... Unless we use the graphics already made, and use it for a non-Tolkien project...

I'm sorry to hear this news, both because I was looking forward to playing this game, and because I think what is happening to it is wrong. Gurthaur spent alot of time and energy making this game for the love of it, which no aspirations of making money.

Gurthaur the creator of "War of the Ring" the total war craft II conversion, has released four new screenshots today. They are of Orcs attacking a human stronghold.

Well there hasn't been much news lately, but theres another game which is worth a look. Here's some info:
