Atari 2600 Lord Of The Rings Discovered

Alex from AtariAge.com wrote in to tell us that they have finally found a copy of the ill-fated Lord of the Rings: Journey to Rivendell game for the Atari 2600, which was never completed nor published by its developers Parker Brothers. Now however the good folks at AA have put together a comprehensive guide to the game which never was, including screenshots, a scan of the prototype cartridge, a picture of the prototype box, historical information about the game, and most importantly the binary image so you can play the game yourself - a must for the more veteran of Lord of the Rings Gaming fans. For years TheOneRing.net has worked to bring every parcel of news concerning the movies, and everything Tolkien, into the light of fandom, and at last we are six days away from the release of the Fellowship of the Ring, the first movie in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The question is, of all you gamers out there that have been anxiously, and I might say very patiently, awaiting the release of Middle Earth games, which of the two excite you more?
