Chase The Can With Decipher
Xoanon @ 11:26 am EST

Get Ready for Decipher's 2nd Annual Chase the Can Tournament Weekend!

(Norfolk, VA, December 5, 2002) Players of The Lord of the Rings? and Star Trek? Trading Card Games have pledged to give back to their community this holiday season by joining Decipher in its1 annual Chase the Can tournament. On the weekend of December 14-15, Decipher will sponsor the 2nd Annual Chase the Can Tournament Weekend to collect canned goods for the less fortunate in communities around the world. During the weekend, players will compete for over $85,000 worth of prizes provided by Decipher, while trying their hand at Decipher's newest expansion, The Two Towers?. In addition, some locations will host Star Trek? Second Edition pre-release events.

Each tournament will be comprised of four games and each player must bring four canned food items in order to play. At the end of each game, the winner will receive one can from their opponent. When the tournament is completed, players will exchange their remaining canned food items to the retailer for booster packs provided by Decipher.

After the tournament weekend, Decipher volunteers will deliver the cans to the local food bank or charity of their choice. Last year alone, over 250 Chase the Can tournaments were held, bringing in thousands of cans of food for local food banks and charities. In addition, Decipher will award a prize to the retailer or tournament director who donates the most canned goods to the chosen charity or food bank in their community.
